I would not usually describe paying for things as dangerous, nor sexy, but contactless payment is both – and one that I am not sure will be around forever. Chip and pin came and was a success and now is almost everywhere; though some hairdressers refuse to use it to be awkward and stupid. One thing that more and more places are offering though is contactless payment. What you do is simple; you hold your card over the chip and machine (much like you do with an oyster card in London.)
It’s easy, it’s fast and it is extremely efficient. Unfortunately it’s open to exploitation as well. A rogue swipe here, a misplaced wallet there and you could soon see yourself accidentally paying for all manner of things when you don’t want to. Still; experience the future while you can, before someone complains about the system and gets it removed from your favourite shops.
